Six-word Saturday

Where did the school year go?

My son has only three more days of kindergarten before school is over. I can't believe I'll be the mother of a first-grader soon! And my baby will be a preschooler next fall. Where did the school year go? Where did the TIME go?

It goes way too fast.

I can't help but feel the way country music singer Billy Dean does in this song:

                    Lyrics here.

Wishing you all a Saturday filled with beautiful memories. ☺

  4. Don't tell me Dana, time fly and some says that the older we get, the more we feel that time really fly to quickly. Lovely video, music, and lyrics.

  6. Time does fly, I guess. I can't imagine what it's like if you're a parent.

    1. I think the best word to describe it is "bittersweet." :)

  7. Our little ones do indeed grow up so very fast right before our eyes. I still look at children crossing the street after school and think that my own two should be somewhere among them, but they are both well into their thirties now, and I wonder how the years have slipped away so quickly. So many good memories that I am thankful for!

  10. The days of bottles, diapers, and toddler tantrums seemed endless at times. Looking back, though, the time flew. My three are teens and into young adulthood now.

  13. I'd say the summer goes faster than the school year ... At least from the kids and teachers perspectives! :) Enjoy the time!

  15. Lovely post, and I agree about time flying (though I'm not a parent, unless you count the furry kids ;)). I hope the summer slows down for you and you're able to pack in lots of great memories! (Lauren from kissedbystarlight.wordpress.com -- it kept saying I had illegal characters, lol.)

  16. If I would have stayed in public school, I would have graduated a year ago. Just thinking about that is shocking enough. I can't imagine having kids in school (or at all, for that matter). haha

  21. Not for your kids, the school year is too long and the summer is too short. Y'all get out a month later than we do where I live. We get out in late May, or first week of June. : )

    1. I'm sure my son will feel that way when he gets older! Right now he loves school and is sad to see the school year end.

I remember getting out in May, too. I wonder why it's so late here?

      Thanks for dropping by. ☺
