Oh, baby!

Happy Monday, friends. It's so good to be back. I can't tell you how much I've missed you all! ☺

I'm sorry I've been gone for so long. Life threw me a couple of curveballs (both good and bad) right after my August vacation, and since then I've been having a hard time getting back into the social media habit. I've been quite the reluctant recluse for the past few months, but I'm so excited to join you all again!

So what's been up with me? Well, if you don't mind, I think I'll leave out the bad. The good, though, is amazing. In August I learned that I'm pregnant! The news was a big (and welcome) surprise! I'm a little more than fifteen weeks along right now, and although I'm very excited, I'm also a little nervous. It's been more than four years since I had my youngest child. Yikes!

Oh, baby!

Today is the first day in months that I haven't felt like crawling back into bed the moment I got up. Pregnancy this time around is very different; it's definitely an adjustment. I have a lot less energy, take a lot of naps, clean only when absolutely necessary, and don't cook nearly as often as I used to. It's all I can do some days just to keep up with the kids. I've also been working on making room for one more person in this tiny house. I see a rummage sale in my future—or lots of trips to Goodwill. ☺

Thank you for all your kind comments, e-mails, and tweets. I hadn't been online much, so I didn't have a chance to read many of them until this past weekend. I'm so grateful for them all—and I'm so happy to be back!

Wishing you all a fantastic Monday. ☺

  5. It was so nice to see your name popping up in my comments this morning, Dana - I've missed you! What delightful news you've brought to make us smile on Mondays. I'm sorry that you've had to go thru some bad stuff, but a new baby on the way is a very good reason to smile and move ahead. I hope you'll soon be feeling a bit more energetic and I"ll be praying that all goes well for you and the little one that God has blessed you with. I bet there are some excited siblings in the house! Looking forward to seeing you here more often, but as always, life trumps blogging, take care of yourself first and join us when you can! Hugs and happy months ahead!

  7. Congrats!!!!

I'm so glad you're back. I missed you while you were away. And man, I can only imagine the difference in pregnancies. My youngest is 7 and we're thinking we want to have more...except I'm looking at the clock and thinking, gosh, I really am getting a bit old for this. I'm so excited for you!

    1. Thanks, Crystal. :) I know what you're saying about age. I've been labeled "advanced maternal age" for my last two pregnancies, and with my first one, I was right on the border. I never really felt my age until this pregnancy though. Things are a lot harder for sure.

Can't wait to catch up with your blog!

  11. Congratulations!! I had my two oldest almost 5 years apart and they have always been so wonderfully close. They're grown men now and they are still very close to one another. :)

    I love your good news!

    1. Thank you! Hearing that your kids are close is a great comfort. My oldest two are less than two and a half years apart, and they are inseparable. I hope they share a bond with their baby brother or sister like the one your children have.
