And baby makes five!

Happy Wednesday, friends. It's been a long time! Thank you to all who have sent emails and posted comments. I appreciate them so much.

Well, a lot has happened since I last posted, the most notable being the birth of my daughter. She was born on April 3, a few days earlier than expected. Since then, I've been discovering just how difficult it is to go from caring for two kids to caring for three. I'd always heard that it's harder to go from one to two, but that definitely hasn't been my experience. ☺

I'm sorry I haven't posted before now. The baby has been sleeping through the night since she was about a month old, which is indeed a blessing, but the trade-off is that she wants to be held all day. I've gotten next to nothing done for the past ten weeks. But even though my house is a mess and I'm behind on my art and writing and blogging and emailing, I'm happy. I know how fast these months fly by, and I'm doing all I can to truly live in the moment. As the Aerosmith refrain goes, I don't wanna miss a thing. ☺

I don't want to miss anything else in the blogosphere either. My goal is to start writing here as often as I can. It might take me a while to get back to posting several times a week, but I'll make it there eventually. I've missed you all, and I'm eager to start catching up on what you've been doing. I may not be able to visit your blogs daily for a while, but I will soon. In the meantime, please let me know in the comments how you've been. I can't wait to hear!

Well, my "free" time has ended, and I'm off to get the baby now. Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday. ☺

Friday fun (and a baby update!)

Happy Friday, friends!

I hope you all had a great week. Mine was really good—especially yesterday, when I had my nineteen-week ultrasound. It was so wonderful to see the baby again! I don't know the gender, but just a few feet away from where I sit right now is an envelope with either "boy" or "girl" written on a piece of paper inside of it. I've been saying all along that I want to let the gender of this baby be a surprise, but I can feel myself weakening a little now. I.don't know when (or if) we'll open the envelope, but I'll be sure to let you all know one way or the other. I'm curious: What would you do?

Now on to the Friday fun. I hope these signs and video bring you some smiles. ☺

Baby!

This morning's 100 words:

As I write this today, my very good friend is having surgery, a planned C-section. She doesn't know if the baby is a boy or a girl, and all of us--most of all her, her husband, and their two daughters--are eager to find out. She's chosen names but hasn't revealed those yet, either.

Last night I dreamed that her husband called to tell me that the baby was a boy named Jacob. There was static, and I couldn't make out the middle name. When I asked him to repeat himself, he hung up on me.

UPDATE: My friend texted me around 4 p.m. to tell me that her son, Wyatt James, had been born!
