Our World Tuesday

Today I'm linking up with Our World Tuesday, a meme that encourages bloggers to share images of their world. It's a great way to get a glimpse of life through the eyes of others! You can find out more about it here. Even if you don't participate, I encourage you to take a look at the intriguing images being shared each week by bloggers around the world.

Last Wednesday, this pile of snow was a prominent feature in our Western New York front yard:

My kids gathered icicles and planted them in this snowbank.
 I'm not sure why... ☺

Today's view—due to our recent 70-degree temperatures—is much different:

I'll admit that I don't mind the lack of snow, but my three-year-old daughter spent much of yesterday afternoon singing a song she'd made up and titled "Snow, Snow, Come back!" I can't say that I sang along, but it was fun to listen to her.

And I'm quite certain that one of these days, she'll get her wish.

Have a wonderful Tuesday—no matter what your weather!

  2. I'm very jealous of your grass. Right now we've got a couple of feet of snow in our front yard and I can't wait for it to melt.

    1. I know the snow will be back, but I'm enjoying the warmer temperatures—and the grass—while I can. Crossing my fingers that your snow melts soon.

  3. Gosh but this is where I'm back in the stone age. Have had the pleasure of owning a cell phone
once a very long time ago. Then realized I can live without it as it was one more debt I couldn't afford. I think I'm the only adult in America that doesn't own a cell phone. So it's time like these I wish I had one so I can take beautiful pictures and post 'em up on my blog. Thanks for sharing.

    1. I know what you mean. I didn't take many pictures outside of the house before I bought a cell phone. Now I'm snapping them all the time! :)

    1. As much as I complain about the snow, I do love that I live in an area that has all four seasons. :)

  14. It must be snowing in our local mountains because I've been freezing! I love the song though--sounds like you might have a talented writer coming up in the family. Nice lyrics little one!

  16. I love it! It's a lot like here...except we've been stuck with freezing temperatures. I hear it's supposed to warm up later this week. Hard to imagine when it's 10 degrees outside. Enjoy the warmth!

    1. Our warmth was fleeting. I think we were back to the thirties today. Still, that's warmer than usual for this time of year, so I'm not complaining!

Hope it warms up for you soon.

  17. You're having changeable weather for sure. The kids must have wanted more icicles to grow! Cute picture (the real one and the mental one of them 'planting'...) Keep the mittens handy!

  18. I look at the many wonderful winter captures from around the world and envy you for your photographic opportunities. A frosting on any landscape is such a pretty addition.
However I don't think I would like the cold and slush that accompany your winter-world. I guess kids don't see the negatives and only remember the fun ... thank goodness for that.

    1. Yes, thank goodness! I have many wonderful childhood memories of playing outside in the snow. It's amazing how much our feelings about things change as we get older...

  19. Its warmer where you live than where I live and its supposed to be warmer here in the winter; go figure :)(our highs for the past few days were in the low to mid 50s; very unusual). It is amazing how fast the snow can melt when the weather warms up :)
