F is for Famous Failures

Happy Saturday!

My A to Z posts are all about the people and things that inspire me to keep following my dreams, no matter what obstacles I encounter. I find a lot of inspiration in today's video, which features several famous people who were told they'd never make it—but they did! If you ever feel like giving up on your dreams, this short video is sure to help you rediscover your motivation. Enjoy!

I'd be grateful if you checked out the haiku I posted for today's Pulitzer Remix Project. You can find it here. Thanks so much to those of you who have been reading and commenting on my poems. I'm very grateful for your support!

Wishing you all an inspirational Saturday. ☺

  1. Wow - great video - nobody sees the challenges people have to go through to succeed.
BTW when I click your link 'here' it comes up with 'no results found'
    Have a good weekend.

Thanks for telling me about my link. I believe it's fixed now.

  3. Thanks for sharing the video. I'm a Lucille Ball and Beatles fan so it was inspirational to see them mentioned.
And I loved the saying at the end ... if you haven't failed then you haven't lived.

    1. It's hard for me to believe that Lucille Ball was ever considered a failure. Love her!

I agree: there's so much truth in that statement.

  4. I only consider someone a failure if they quit trying. Up until then, it's just working towards a goal!

  6. Jimmy Buffet played at one of the local bars in my town before he was famous. They told him never to come back & said he would never make it in the music business. Wow.

  7. Abe was one of the least politically ranking president before his first presidential elections outside the few who were generals and military commanders. His highest rank before then was a congressman, and he wasn't a congressman during the election.

  9. This is an awesome post! I was once told at a job,--when I had to learn how to drive a forklift--and I was so afraid of knocking over stacks of pallets, or bumping a wall, "The only way to never do anything wrong...is to never do anything." Dang... It's true. :-)

  10. It really is inspirational to know that Sucessful Famous Icons have had their share of failures and put downs. It just goes to show that the human spirit is resilient and determined.

Loved the Haiku today. Reminded me of a place and time I enjoyed so much...except the snow covered field was a glistening lake.

    1. I've always loved Lucille Ball, so her story touched me the most. It's pretty amazing what people can do despite being told they're not going to make it. :)

  15. Oh! This is just EXCELLENT! It really makes you stop and think, not only about how we sometimes limit ourselves based on the erroneous labels others put on us, but also on how far we can go despite that if we are willing to begin again... that's my favorite theme... always begin again! Great video, I loved it!!!

  19. We do need to get out there are try things, to be fully alive. Thanks for the great reminder to get out of that comfort zone and dare to do something that's not a sure thing - come what may.
