Thursday yeas and nays

Beautiful fall!
Happy Thursday, friends.

Thursday always feels like a wild card day to me. It's one of the two days each week when my daughter doesn't go to preschool, and it's also different from most of the other days because I don't have a set schedule to follow. It's almost a free day! As I was thinking about the things I need/want to get done today, I came up with this list of yeas and nays—and I learned that I can always find a lot of good if I take the time to look for it: ☺

Project Runway All-Stars is on tonight. Yea!

♥ I'm way behind on my NaNoWriMo project, but I'm still plodding along. Yea!

♥ I have to write the store list for our weekly grocery shopping trip. Nay.

♥ My daughter and I are going to the library today. Yea!

♥ Yesterday's weather was beautiful, so I took the kids outside to play after school. Today, however, it's gray and rainy—not an outdoor playday at all. Nay.

♥ On the other hand, back home they already have snow, so I guess a little rain is just fine—and the leaves are still pretty. Yea!

♥ I'm almost finished with the book I'm reading, so soon I'll be able to move on to one I've been waiting to read for a while, Ted Kooser's Sure Signs: New and Selected Poems. Yea!

We can find them if we look: rainbows and silver linings!
♥ Since I cooked so much this week and have tons of leftovers, I don't have to make dinner tonight. Yea!

♥ Mount Laundry is waiting for me downstairs. Nay.

♥ Today is a new day to get things right. Yea!

How about you? What are your Thursday yeas and nays?

Wishing you all a wonderful day. ☺

  1. Leftovers are awesome. I prefer them to freshly cooked most of the time! And you've made me want to take a trip to my local library today :)

  2. I'm reading two good books right now so that alone makes me happy. I like the regular season of Project Runway - I miss Tim Gunn! And my NaNo project is coming along, slowly but surely, like a tortoise. :)

    Enjoy your day!

    1. Oh, I agree. The regular season is much better, largely because of Tim Gunn! I'm glad your NaNo project is going well. ☺

    1. I know! She's always been one of my favorites too, but I haven't been too impressed with anything she's made so far.

  9. The biggest yea is that it was my Friday because I'm taking a vacation day tomorrow. :-) The biggest nay is that I'm behind on my NaNoWriMo project and will be even more behind due to our plans this weekend. Good luck with yours! :-)

    1. Congrats on your early weekend! As far as NaNo goes, at least we're not alone in being behind. Good luck with yours too! ☺

  10. I like your Yeas and Nays, Dana, too cute! My nay would have been the writing out of the shopping list too (that also goes along with planning the meals for the next week). I fell behind getting it done today like I usually do so I'll do it tomorrow morning. My yea would be it was 85 degrees here today!

    1. 85 degres sounds wonderful today! It was hailing here a minute ago...

Well, I didn't get to my store list/meal planning yesterday, so guess what I'm doing today. Ugh.

      Happy weekend!

  12. When I was younger, we used to call Thursday "Honorary Friday." We'd go out clubbing until 2 am, only to have to get up a few hours later to go to work.
    I don't do that anymore.
I don't even do that when I can sleep in the next day.
My daughter calls them "Thirsty Thursdays."
    She'll eventually learn.
And be asleep by nine on Fridays.
I'll probably be dead by then, though.
At least I'll be getting some sleep.

    1. LOL We also called them "Thirsty Thursdays" when I was in college. And yes, I agree: she'll learn. :)

Hope you get some sleep, Al.
