Things that make me happy

The skies have been a little gray lately in my corner of the world—literally and metaphorically—so I thought that today I'd focus on the things that make me happy, like...

  1. A big yes to so much on this list. For me it's pumpkins, pie, coffee, cuddles, video games with my hubs, tea. :)

  2. Tall triple shot mocha, no whip, whole milk (instead of my usual skim) and that is a treat I love to enjoy on a gray sky day.

  3. Pansies, Ancestry.com, watching "Anne of Green Gables" for the millionth time, anticipation of a weekend at the lake

    1. Pansies are beautiful! I planted about ten pots of them this year and set them out on our front step. Just looking at their little smiling faces makes me happy. :)

  9. I like the notes you put in your son's lunchbox! I'm sure he enjoys getting them! Wonderful list you have there of things that make you happy, though I got to say I have never tried sushi. Its not that I'm adverse to it, I just haven't had anyone that knows what they are doing with it offer to take me to a sushi place and I'm a bit intimidated to go there myself, LOL :)

    have a good day!

    1. He loves them! He can't read yet, so I just write "I love you," which he recognizes, on a heart. He saves all of them. :)

      Happy Wednesday!

  10. What a sweet post! I try to do this when I'm feeling down too. My son's smiles and the quirky toddler things he says. I love autumn too. Seeing the bright colors on the trees makes me smile.

  11. Pumpkin anything, especially pie or donuts, cuddly pets, helping with a rescue transport, a good visit with a great friend, pink roses, and finding a really good book.

  16. I agree with a lot of yours, especially rainbows. I love kitties and anything that makes me laugh. Video games, anime, manga, books and writing. Can't even live without YouTube, lol.

  17. I rejected sushi because I thought it was bait.
Then I had a sip of sake.
Thought I'd try a taste of sushi.
    Another cup of sake.
"Hey, pass that bait over here!"
    Two more cups of sake.
"Lookit me! Sushi in my nose!"
"Hey, why's this sake so warm? And how bout more of that great fish and rice thing?"
    Carafe of sake.
"Oh, yeah? Well, I...uh...gimme nudder piece a slushies."
"Mrs. Penwasser, it appears that your husband has fallen asleep in the tempura."
I had a headache the next day.
And a fish smell I couldn't get out of my nose.
    Bonzai!

  24. That sushi looks good. I don't get it often, so it's a special treat. I like a lot of those things too. Unfortunately I have lots of slips of papers around the house for these lists too, in addition to my writing notes. I need to be better organized.

  25. Your list is great! I love all of those same things! Instead of sushi though, I'd substitute salmon. :-) I think chocolate is on every women's list! Keeping you in prayer. :-)

  26. You're so good to think of the good when the bad is busy beating you in the face. I'm jealous you get pumpkin coffee creamer. As I sit with my black coffee and 500 calorie days as far as the eye can see. At least you have that!

    1. The store was out the last time I went shopping. Horror! I was sad.

Thinking of the good is getting harder and harder, unfortunately.
