I've caught the spirit bug!

I woke up this morning full of Christmas spirit. I'm like a child waiting for Santa! Here's why:

I'm usually a last-minute shopper, but for once, I'm almost completely done buying gifts, and while I haven't wrapped anything yet, I actually enjoy the job and plan on doing it during the stolen moments I can find in the next few days. We're buying our tree from the local Boy Scout troop tonight, and I'm looking forward to decorating it with my husband and kids this weekend. And a couple of weeks ago, my husband decorated the outside of our house. He created a beautiful display, but even he would agree that it's nothing like the one in this video, which is absolutely amazing!

I'm excited for Christmas. Things are shaping up!

How are your holiday preparations going? Are you ready for Christmas?

  1. What a gorgeous house! Thanks for sharing. I am so far behind- I need more time to be ready for Christmas. But I'm trying to enjoy it, and I never want to wish time away.

    1. Welcome to the blog! Are you also from the UP?

I agree: I wish the pace of Christmas was much slower. It all goes by in a flash. :)

  9. Some people are so clever with what they do with house decorations incorporating it with music! Very nicely done!

Good for you Dana getting everything done with shopping! The wrapping is the easy part I think; its hard sometimes to figure out what to buy, go to the stores, etc., wrapping you just pick the paper, get the gift and start wrapping :)

I'm about 50% done; we're going shopping tomorrow and I hope to "wrap" up a lot of it at the end of the evening. We only buy for four people so you think it would be easy to get it done, LOL :)

We did get our tree up last night; actually son put it up and I put a few decorations on it; he put some lights around the house and outside. We've saving decorating the rest of the tree until his girlfriend comes down to spend an early Christmas with us on 12/23; she wants to help decorate the tree :)

  11. Oh, I'm so ready for it - although, I haven't bought a single gift yet! I'm actually STILL decorating my house! I figure it'll be up until a week after New Year, so I'm still okay setting everything up!

    1. I keep my decorations up at least that long, too. It's hard to let go of the season. :)

  14. Wow. That is cool.

I'm not ready. And I haven't caught the bug yet. My kids wanted to listen to Christmas music when we're in the car these last few weeks, but I just started putting it on at home now. It'll probably hit soon.

    1. I think it's kind of hard to get into the Christmas spirit when the stores start shoving the holiday down our throats so early in the year. :(

      Have a nice Christmas!

  15. I am often already infected by Thanksgiving--LOL! But then I don't have to shop or decorate--just turn on the music and feel the joy!! I am amazed by the houses that have these kind of music light shows!! That was something! Enjoy the season, lady!!! :):)
