To all the fathers...

Happy Father's Day! Enjoy your children; they grow up too fast...

Walk a Little Slower, Daddy
For My Daddy

"Walk a little slower, Daddy,"
said a child so small.
"I'm following in your footsteps,
and I don't want to fall.

"Sometimes your steps are very fast.
Sometimes they're hard to see.
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
for you are leading me.

"Someday when I'm all grown up,
you're what I want to be;
then I will have a little child
who'll want to follow me.

"And I would want to lead just right
and know that I was true,
so walk a little slower, Daddy,
for I must follow you."

(I've loved this poem since I discovered it while searching for Father's Day crafts the year my first child was born. I wish I knew who wrote it.)

  3. Oh, wow. I've gotten teary-eyed reading this, picturing as I did my son walking in his dad's footsteps. Unlike my own dad's footsteps, those would not be bad steps for Li'l D to follow.

I'm sending this poem to Ba.D. now. Thank you.
