Confessions

I woke up this morning desperate to get some things off my chest...

♥ I confess that I've eaten my weight in cake since last Sunday. There's a sliver left, and I vow that I will feed it to the kids and not touch any of it myself. Hold me accountable!

♥ I confess that turning *mumble, mumble* has been a little harder than I thought it would be.

♥ I confess that I occasionally sometimes often eat chocolate pudding for breakfast.

♥ I confess that I don't want my son to start kindergarten next month. He's my first baby!

♥ I confess that I don't like it when my husband takes a day off of work. His being here throws off my routine, and I'm not crazy about change.

♥ I confess that I Netflix Dawson's Creek and watch it nearly every day.

♥ In related news, I confess that I might have a slight crush on Joshua Jackson.

♥ I confess that I'm about 1,100 words behind on my Camp NaNoWriMo project. I blame the margarita.

♥ I confess that I haven't folded the laundry in about a week. It's heaped in a pile on a table, and we all just rummage around until we find what we want.

♥ I confess that yesterday at Barnes and Noble, I told the kids I'd buy them the stuffed animals they wanted if they would be quiet and let me choose a book for myself.

♥ I confess that bribing them worked.

♥ I confess that I'm going to order another book today.

♥ I confess that I talk to myself all the time. I argue with me too.

♥ I confess that I'm obsessed with avocados. Last month, I ate six of them in one week.

♥ I confess that I sometimes often put pajamas on when I get home, no matter what time it is.

♥ I confess that we're out of Cascade, and since I don't feel like going to the store, I'm making everyone eat off paper plates today.

♥ I confess that I haven't used the treadmill in a very long time.

♥ I confess that I think I could be BFF with Tori Spelling.

♥ I confess that I still watch America's Next Top Model.

♥ I confess that reading your blogs is one of the best parts of my day. ☺

Whew! I feel better now! Do you have anything you need to confess?

  1. hehe..... I LOVE america's next top model. I LIVE in my pajamas, I NEVER fold the laundry, I OFTEN eat pie for breakfast (hey, there's fruit and eggs in it, right?) I could go on and on :)

  2. LOL, Dana. I just love you!

I confess that I don't like my husband taking the day off either...unless it's to give me a break or take me to breakfast or something. Otherwise, "Get your butt outta here--this is MY space!"

-didn't want the first kid to go to kindergarten...couldn't wait for the third one to go
-and...I've done the laundry thing, bribed the kids, made everybody eat off paper plates, and have eaten nearly a whole cake all by myself *sigh*

    Moms rule!

    1. Yes we do! :)

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't exactly love it when her husband stays home from work. Like you, I need my space!

  3. I confess that when my husband calls from work and asks what I'm doing, I answer, "Oh just working on my genealogy" even if I'm not. I confess that I checked out the Now and Then Store belonging to Jarrod and Brandi of "Storage Wars." Now that's pathetic!

    1. I love this! I do the same kind of thing when my husband calls:

      HIM: What're you doing?
ME: Oh, I'm folding laundry. (Code for commenting on blogs.) :)

I confess that I love watching Storage Wars!

  5. I only took a shower at five yesterday evening to go watch a movie at my grandma's... My job hasn't started yet lol... I think it needs to so that I get off my rather large bum and get out and about!

I desperately need to sweep the floor right now - but I'm delaying the process for as long as I can ;-)

    Cheers! lol

    1. That's another thing: I need to sweep! Let's just not. ;)

  6. Oh, man, Dana, we must be sisters or something! A lot of your "confessions" could have been written by me!! The avocados, the laundry, the treadmill thing . . . to name a few!

    Sweep? Yes, let's just not!

    1. Sis, you don't know how relieved I am to know I'm not the only one. ;)

  7. I confess that, when I take the dog outside every night around midnight to pee, I think that he may be on to something.
We both have a favorite tree.

  8. We all need to get those things off our chests now and then! I wear pajamas all the time at home too. Those PJ bottoms are the most comfy things! I confess I was immensely relieved that I was scheduled to be the teacher's helper today for my son's first day of preschool so I didn't have to leave him there. I confess it went really well and that I'm even more relieved I don't have to be the helper every day!

    1. How lucky! That'll make it a lot easier to leave him there the next time. :)

  9. I love this Dana! I also don't like it when my husband works from home (not exactly the same as a day off) b/c I can't do anything. He ties up the phone and I can't make noise, even in the kitchen!

I am also addicted to avocado and eat about half per day. So good!

    1. My husband works from home sometimes, too--and I know exactly what you mean! Let's just say it's not easy keeping two small kids quiet--especially when they're used to having the run of the house each day.

I'm eating an avocado right now. :)

  10. I love your list! I confess that when I took the kids out of town last week for a mini vacation, we had ice cream sundaes for dinner. (Don't tell my husband.)

  11. I could have eaten my weight in birthday cake, only when I lifted the cover to see the leftover cake, there was only a tiny piece left, and I, being Mom, put the lid back on and let the kids divide it in half and have it for breakfast!

  12. I can't eat as much cake as I used to

  13. Ha! What a fun post! You made me smile - I live in my flannels when I get home from work! I prefer to have days alone at the house and am disappointed if RR has to be around all day. Even though I do love him. I always used to bribe my kids so I could look at the bookstore - they would look at books if I promised them I would get them a cookie after I was finished. My birthday comes next month and I confess that I will actually make a birthday cake for MYSELF - and will enjoy every chocolate taste.

    1. Thanks! I love that we've both bribed our kids at the bookstore. :) Enjoy that cake!

  14. my kids start school Monday and I do not think I will miss them...they are at the point now where they ALL are talking to me nonstop and following me all around the house...maybe I should bribe them like you did, but they are too old for stuffed animals and the electronic stuff they want is too expensive for 15 minutes of silence.

    1. I agree: it seems there's never a moment of peace. I sometimes go into the computer room with a bag of chocolate and lock the door behind me. The kids know not to bother me because—"Mommy's working." :)

  15. Wow. That is a lot of introspection and self-awareness. When you got it off your chest, did the cake weight go with it?

  16. That wasn't so bad now was it?? If those kids don't want that cake I'll eat it hahha Have a good weekend

    1. Oh, they wanted it all right. I almost broke down and had a sliver, but I gave it all to them (and the husband).

      Have a nice weekend!

    1. We should set up our own NaNo support group. ;) I managed to catch up today, but when I wake up tomorrow, I'll be behind again. It's a vicious cycle. LOL

  18. I talk to myself too. It helps me think. ;-) I'm in my PJs the MINUTE I'm in for the day. Sometimes it's noon. I'm obsessed w/ mangoes like you are avocados. And I'd rather my hubby be at work too. Funny how many of us feel that way. Maybe our husbands would rather be at work too! Funny, endearing post!

    1. You might be right about our husbands! I'm not going to ask mine if he'd rather be at work. I don't know if I want to know the answer. LOL

Thanks, mare. Have a great weekend. :)

  19. Bribery is sometimes necessary. I have a drawer full of stickers at the ready when the need arises with my toddler!
