Happy Tuesday, friends.
Let's talk music! Have you ever woken up with a song running through your mind? I woke up this morning thinking about Johnny Cash's version of "Delia's Gone." I adore this folk ballad, which I think is a great example of narrative. The video is really well done, too. Just take a look at Cash's face; you can clearly see his regret as he recounts the tale of Delia's death.

Friday fun
Happy Friday, friends.
I'm exhausted! Yesterday I spent about fifteen hours burning DVDs from our camcorder. I finally fell into bed around two a.m., and then I was back up at five to wash a shirt my son needed for his Flag Day presentation at school today. Bedtime can't come soon enough!
I hope you enjoy this week's dose of fun. Wishing us all a relaxing (and restful) weekend. ☺

J is for (The) Johnny Cash Project
Happy Thursday! ☺
Today's video inspiration comes from The Johnny Cash Project, an ongoing, collaborative effort to create "a living portrait of the Man in Black." What I find most inspirational about this video is that anyone can contribute to it. All you have to do is go to the Web site and use their program to create a portrait of Johnny. (And you don't even have to be an artist!) All the portraits are then integrated into the video for Cash's "Ain't No Grave."
I first posted about this project about six months ago, but I wanted to include it in my A to Z of Inspiration because the video is constantly changing as people contribute their artwork. The version below is from 2012. To see the latest version and/or contribute your own portrait, visit the Web site. I haven't made my contribution yet, but I plan to. Let me know if you decide to contribute, too.

I've always been a big fan of Johnny Cash. My parents used to listen to his music a lot when I was young, and I grew to love his distinctive voice. As I got older, I admired him even more for his strong faith in God.
About a year ago, I learned about The Johnny Cash Project, a collaborative effort to create "a living portrait of the Man In Black." Anyone who wishes to can go to the project's Web site (www.thejohnnycashproject.com) and create a portrait of Johnny, and then those portraits are integrated into a video for Cash's "Aint' No Grave." The video changes as more and more people contribute their artwork; the one I've posted here is just one version. Sunday inspiration
Happy Sunday! I hope you're all having a great weekend.
In yesterday's post, I listed ten little-known facts about me, one of which is my love for Johnny Cash. Today I thought I'd post one of my favorite videos, Hurt, a remake of a Nine Inch Nails song that Cash recorded near the end of his life. I find the video inspirational: it's beautiful and sad and hopeful all at once. The images themselves, many showing a younger Cash, could tell a thousand stories. What do you see? Is there a video or song that you find particularly inspiring or intriguing?
