Picnics on the living room floor.
At my daughter's request, this week I hosted two picnics on our living room floor, complete with a blanket and a lunch with all the trimmings. We both had a great time, and my daughter has been talking about her "special lunches" for days. I'm glad I took the time to create this memory—for both of us.
Wishing you all a joyful Saturday. ☺
I love those sorts of picnics! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was fun seeing how excited my daughter was. :)
DeleteSounds like the thing I should be doing, no point in going out as it's snowing
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be getting a lot of snow. I hope it slows down soon.
DeleteHappy weekend, Bill. ☺
Even this old guy, childless by choice, feels compelled to say,"Awwwwwww..."
ReplyDelete☺ Have a great weekend, Ron.
DeleteMy granddaughter loved the special "tea parties". She loved putting her cookies on the special plates.
ReplyDeleteIt only takes a little to make children happy. I need to remember that. ☺
DeleteAwww, lovely! What a great memory it'll be, Dana!
ReplyDeleteYou're the one that brought me to 6WS, so thanks! It is a fun way to share a bit of your life with the others!
Happiness!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteWe used to do that too! I did a similar thing as a child - not with my mom but with my brothers and I still remember that -
ReplyDeleteI hope she never forgets. I know I won't.
DeleteHappy weekend. ☺
I don't think I've ever had a real picnic
ReplyDeleteI can remember a few. :)
DeleteI don't have children of my own but I do work with them. I agree that it's about the little things. They remember simple gestures like this. Your picnics sound fun. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jaime. You too!
DeleteI remember those! Sometimes favourite dolls had to take part too. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't invited the dolls yet, but I bet we will soon. :)
DeleteHave a nice weekend.
That is what life's about. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is. ☺
DeleteWonderfully funny. That I did before buying furniture.
ReplyDeleteI remember those days!
DeleteI love reading posts like this. You are a great mom and she will remember this forever, good memories made.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you. That means a lot. ☺
Deletewhat a great idea...and you are right..she will remember this for a very long time!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI used to do that with my mom and my grandparents. It always ended up being in front of the TV but with nobody paying attention to it. I guess thats what happens when every time you plan an outdoor picnic, it ends up raining that same day. We never had much luck planning around the weather but I think that made it more special. =)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have some wonderful memories of those days. ☺
DeleteSix words full of fun and memories!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! ☺
DeleteOn the floor? There's dog hair!
ReplyDeleteHaha! We have cat AND dog hair on the floor. ;)
DeleteWhat a fun picnic idea! I love those kinds of things...and I loved doing them with my kids, and then later with my grandkids!
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday!
We had a great time. I'm sure we'll have at least a few more indoor picnics while we wait for spring—and then maybe we can go outdoors!
DeleteAwww - that sounds like so much fun! I used to love doing that! When I have kids someday, it is definitely something we will do. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you do. It's a lot of fun, even for us "old" folk. ;)
DeleteThat sounds lovely. You just gave me an idea for tonight. :)
ReplyDeleteAw, that's great. I hope you have a wonderful time. :)
DeleteThat sounds like way too much fun! Can I come?
ReplyDeleteOf course! And bring your kids. They always sound like so much fun!
DeleteI wish I could join you!
ReplyDeleteCome on over! ☺
DeleteThat's so sweet. My son likes to do the same thing. He even has a little red tea set that he uses too. Can't wait until the summer when we can have picnics in the yard! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I know! I'm sure our kids will love that even more. ☺
DeleteI've had some of my best picnics doing just that! Especially with little ones!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to doing it again. ☺
Deletecute and fun idea!:)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's full of those kinds of ideas. ☺
DeleteSo precious Dana. My kids are too old for picnics on the floor but I have grandchildren coming so that will be possible.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy those lovely memories you'll make with them. ☺
DeleteOur kids loved 'breakfast picnics'....we'd grab some bagels and oj and the book we were currently reading and head to the park. I treasure those memories!
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful! Thanks for the inspiration. I'm going to do that with my kids as soon as the weather warms up. ☺
