Tuesday tunes

Happy Tuesday, friends.

Let's talk music! Have you ever woken up with a song running through your mind? I woke up this morning thinking about Johnny Cash's version of "Delia's Gone." I adore this folk ballad, which I think is a great example of narrative. The video is really well done, too. Just take a look at Cash's face; you can clearly see his regret as he recounts the tale of Delia's death.

What song is on your mind today?

Wishing you all a fantastic (and musical!) Tuesday. ☺

  1. I've always liked Johnny Cash. This is pretty dark, even for him. But I like it.

    1. I know: earworms can be the worst! I agree about listening to music while doing chores. I need to do that more often.

  3. I ALWAYS have songs running through my head. Currently I'm in a production of "Oliver" and so find myself constantly singing things like, "Food, glorious food!" I guess there are worse things... ; )

  5. That one is certainly catchy. I have songs stuck in my head all the time. But I'm a little weird. They're usually entire symphonies. Like right now, I have Tchaikovky's Capriccio Italienne going on in my head. ;0)

  7. Love some Johnny Cash. Unfortunately I have "The Fox" in my head because that's all my little guy wants to hear recently. *LOL*

  8. I had never heard this song before, Dana. Interesting story line. Most of the songs running through my head are praise songs since that's the main music I listen to these days unless I hear some silly commercial with a jingle LOL :)

    1. It's an old folk ballad; several artists have covered it. I'd love to hear more about what praise songs you listen to. :)

Those jingles get stuck in my head too!

  9. Haven't heard that song in a long time. I keep thinking of The Lightning Strike by Snow Patrol. It reminds me of my latest book.

  12. I've just been listening to the Beyond Two Souls soundtrack. I'm amazed how well it fits the mood of my final chapters. And we can always use a little "Cash." :)

  17. I don't have a specific song from this morning, but that kind of thing happens to me all the time. And the funny thing is, I don't know where the songs come from. I didn't necessarily listen to them the previous day.

    Happy Friday!

    1. I know what you mean. My husband and I were in the kitchen one day last weekend, and we both started singing the same song at the same time. We have no idea where it came from! Weird...

      Have a great Friday!
