Happy Saturday!
My A to Z posts are all about the people and things that inspire me to keep following my dreams, no matter what obstacles I encounter. I find a lot of inspiration in today's video, which features several famous people who were told they'd never make it—but they did! If you ever feel like giving up on your dreams, this short video is sure to help you rediscover your motivation. Enjoy!
I'd be grateful if you checked out the haiku I posted for today's Pulitzer Remix Project. You can find it here. Thanks so much to those of you who have been reading and commenting on my poems. I'm very grateful for your support!
Wishing you all an inspirational Saturday. ☺
Wow - great video - nobody sees the challenges people have to go through to succeed.
ReplyDeleteBTW when I click your link 'here' it comes up with 'no results found'
Have a good weekend.
That's so true! I think that's why I find their stories so inspiring.
DeleteThanks for telling me about my link. I believe it's fixed now.
Thanks, Dana. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Linda. ☺
DeleteThanks for sharing the video. I'm a Lucille Ball and Beatles fan so it was inspirational to see them mentioned.
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved the saying at the end ... if you haven't failed then you haven't lived.
It's hard for me to believe that Lucille Ball was ever considered a failure. Love her!
DeleteI agree: there's so much truth in that statement.
I only consider someone a failure if they quit trying. Up until then, it's just working towards a goal!
ReplyDeleteGood point!
DeleteOkay, regain confidence in ourselves!
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteJimmy Buffet played at one of the local bars in my town before he was famous. They told him never to come back & said he would never make it in the music business. Wow.
ReplyDeleteJaime at Awakenings and Reflections
I guess he showed them. :)
DeleteAbe was one of the least politically ranking president before his first presidential elections outside the few who were generals and military commanders. His highest rank before then was a congressman, and he wasn't a congressman during the election.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Adam. :)
DeleteThis is great! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteGlad it inspired you!
DeleteThis is an awesome post! I was once told at a job,--when I had to learn how to drive a forklift--and I was so afraid of knocking over stacks of pallets, or bumping a wall, "The only way to never do anything wrong...is to never do anything." Dang... It's true. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt really is inspirational to know that Sucessful Famous Icons have had their share of failures and put downs. It just goes to show that the human spirit is resilient and determined.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Haiku today. Reminded me of a place and time I enjoyed so much...except the snow covered field was a glistening lake.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Have a great Sunday. ☺
DeleteGreat video. I had heard the story of Micheal Jordan and Walt Disney before but not the others.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved Lucille Ball, so her story touched me the most. It's pretty amazing what people can do despite being told they're not going to make it. :)
DeleteOh! This is just EXCELLENT! It really makes you stop and think, not only about how we sometimes limit ourselves based on the erroneous labels others put on us, but also on how far we can go despite that if we are willing to begin again... that's my favorite theme... always begin again! Great video, I loved it!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful theme! So glad you enjoyed the video. ☺
DeleteLoved this, Dana. Sometimes we have to fail to really appreciate what we have achieved.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! :-)
That's so true.
DeleteHope you're having a wonderful weekend. :)
Well I was inspired enough to go to Buscot then on to Kelmscott and visit William Morris's grave. Yep had a good day
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful day, Bill! I hope you took pictures. :)
DeleteVery inspiring, Dana. Glad I saw this, I need some inspiration today.
ReplyDeleteI hope it helped, Fran. :)
DeleteHave a great Sunday.
Great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWe do need to get out there are try things, to be fully alive. Thanks for the great reminder to get out of that comfort zone and dare to do something that's not a sure thing - come what may.
ReplyDeleteI like how you put that—"to be fully alive." So true!
DeleteDana, I've been by before but not in a while. This is a great post and the video says it all. Perfect F for the A-Z!
ReplyDeleteI liked your haiku...
Chuck at Apocalypse Now
Thanks for both, Chuck. Glad to see you back!
DeletePerfect video. Daring to keep going, to never give up, and to be okay with failure. I'm working on accepting that it's all a part of the process.
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy, that's for sure. The older I get, though, the more willing I am to throw myself into my passions completely. This is the only life I'll have.
DeleteHappy weekend, Robin. ☺
Hi Dana! Another inspirational post ... I love what you are doing here. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me. I hope that you are having a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteIt sure is. :)
DeleteI believe there is a quote that goes something "If you have never failed, you have never pushed yourself to see how far you can go." Loved the video. Thanks for sharing it.

DeleteThank you for finding these great inspirations!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I'm glad you're enjoying them.
Deletelife = risk. I should make that into a poster for my classroom.
ReplyDeleteGreat thoughts! An inspiration!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it. :)
DeleteI love things like this. Its amazing how many people were bullied, put down, told they were wasting their time or they would never make it... But there they are, making history and proving the entire world wrong. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love this, Dana!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad. Happy Sunday!
Deleteso inspiring, love it
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteIt's more important to believe in yourself than in what other people tell you. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so true. :)
DeleteAnother test LOL with a google account. But I truly do love the video!!:)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it. Sorry about all the mix-up. I wish I knew what was going on.
DeleteI bet very few people would list "failure" as something that inspires them. But you're open-minded and insightful. Excellent!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired by the way they rose about their detractors. I think that's pretty wonderful!
