First, I want to thank all of you who blitzed my blog yesterday. It was a wonderful surprise to wake up to—especially on a Monday!—and I'm so grateful for your kind comments. You all made my day! I'm still working on responding to your comments and visiting your blogs. It might take me a few days, but I'll get there. ☺ Again, many thanks to you all!

This week I thought I'd share two photos from around my yard:
I'm not sure what kind of tree this is, but the flowers are absolutely gorgeous!
This second photo is of something my children find gorgeous, and they bring me bouquets of them nearly every day.
Even though my husband, who does the yard work, would disagree, I have to admit that dandelions are kind of pretty—especially against the green grass.
Wishing you all a beautiful Tuesday. ☺
Lovely delicate flowers and the dandelion is a superb colour, of course a weed is only a flower in the wrong place!
ReplyDeleteThat's so true!
DeleteHave a nice Tuesday, Sally. ☺
Dandelions are okay in other peoples gardens but they can stay the hell out of mine.
ReplyDeleteLOL I think a lot of people feel that way.
DeleteThat's a gorgeous dandelion my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Keith. :)
DeleteOops my bad. I was suppose to comment yesterday too, but forgot when life got in the way. Dandelions greens are tasty when young but by the time they flower they are yucky!
ReplyDeleteNo worries. We've all been there. :)
DeleteI've never eaten dandelion greens. Maybe someday.
Have a nice Tuesday.
could your tree be a "mock orange" tree--it kinda looks like mine that my oldest son had to plant years ago for a school project and it's in full bloom now :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. It's actually on the property line. Maybe my neighbor knows. Whatever it is, it was really pretty when it was in bloom. (This photo was taken a week or so ago; all the flowers have already dropped.)
DeleteHappy Tuesday, Lynn!
Thanks, Gary. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely blossom tree. And I do like dandelions -they are so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good word for them!
Deletedandelions, the prettiest of weeds
ReplyDeletelovely photos Dana! I too think dandelions are dandy! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathe. You too!
DeleteI LOVE dandelions. My kids called them wish flowers when they were little, so they not only bring a special memory, but the hope only children can see.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad for the blitz! How else would I have found such a wonderful blog? Love the our world idea!
What a sweet story about the dandelions! Kids are wonderful. :)
DeleteHey Dana! Nice to meet you. I'm way late for the blogging blitz, but I am here! Have a great day. Great post. Love the eye image. Here's to us crazy, frazzled moms!
ReplyDeleteI'm more crazy and frazzled some days than others! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by. ☺
DeleteWhat a great blog you have. I am your new follower.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Welcome. ☺
DeleteI too like dandelions.
ReplyDeleteNo idea what those white flowers are?
I wish I knew. They were gorgeous!
DeleteThanks for stopping by. :)
Hi! Blizter here, just a bit late. Sorry! I think my space time continuum has been discombulated. Love your site and your writing style. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday. :)
DeleteBeautiful flowers, they are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteDandelions are pretty - especially when your kid hands you a whole bouquet of them!
ReplyDeleteI agree. That's when they're their prettiest. :)
DeleteFunny, my Mom and I were just taling about how pretty they look when the yellow blossoms are fresh, especially in a huge field full of them. Too bad they go to the ugly stage so quickly.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, but at least by the next day there will be a ton more of the pretty ones! :)
DeleteGreat shots, I like the light and color in those flowers, a wonderful spring, nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Leovi. :)
DeleteThey look nice but I hate them, always sending up little seeds round the garden to grow more, mind you rabbits like them.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a garden, so I don't think about the rabbits, but you're absolutely right. I think people either love them or hate them.
DeleteBeautiful flowers! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! What a day you had yesterday being Blitzed! Thanks for responding to my comment...I'd have surely understood had you not!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the flowers from WEEDS? I do, and have a file that says 'FlowerWeeds'...it's full and I'm still taking shots of them. I've been known to shout..."Pull over, there's some pretty weeds"...HiHoney just rolls his eyes and pulls over!
Happy Tuesday

The flowers from weeds are sometimes even prettier than "real" flowers. ☺
DeleteI'm still working on the Blitz comments—and I think I will be for a while. :)
Hope you're having a nice Tuesday.
Could be a dogwood or cherry, not an expert. Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, it might be dogwood! Thanks. :)
DeleteThe dandelion looks especially pretty from the angle of the picture. I'm so used to seeing them as a nuisance I think I forget to admire them before they get the chop!
ReplyDeleteI think they look pretty close-up. :)
DeleteI think it's Dogwood too. My little Dogwood is just blooming now too. I love it when my little guy brings me dandelions!
ReplyDeleteI have a little glass for them in my kitchen. The yellow brightens up the room. :)
DeleteVery nice post. And yes, dandelions are a kids best bouquet for mom :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for stopping by my blog today. You are a good person to blitz - couldn't have happened to anyone nicer.
That's very nice of you to say. Thanks so much, Susan. Have a wonderful evening and a great Wednesday!
DeleteSuch sweet children of yours. I'd feel like a princess if I were treated like that :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I do. I'm enjoying it now while I'm still their world. :)
DeleteGood pics! It takes a special person to see the beauty in dandelions. You can look at them as a bunch of weeds, or you can look at them as a bunch of wishes.
ReplyDeleteI love how you said that—it's so true.
DeleteThanks, Susan.
nothing beats the beauty of nature. have a great week Dana.
ReplyDeleteYou too, friend. :)
DeleteOkay, so when I was young my mum told me that dandelions would make me want to go to the toilet so I shouldn't touch them... As no one else has mentioned that, I'm starting to think she made it up to stop me bringing them into the house...
ReplyDeleteLOL Too cute!
DeleteBeautiful flowers, the first image looks so inspiring and relaxing! Thanks a lot for visiting.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I appreciate your stopping by. :)
DeleteLovely flowers, Dana:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melgie. :)
DeleteHi, Dana,
ReplyDeleteI had to smile with the dandelions... When I was a little boy, I used to bring bunches to my mom too...
As for your flowering tree, if the blooms are very fragrant, then your tree could very easily be white jasmine. Such lovely delicate flowers. I had one on my home in Florida.
What a great concept for a bloghop!
There was no scent to the flowers, unfortunately. That would have been heavenly!
DeleteOur World Tuesday is a lot of fun. You should try it sometime. :)
I do most of the yard work and appreciate the plants and flowers and just being outside. Thanks for the pics!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful shots!!

Thanks, Kathy!
DeleteI love dandelions. They are on my poetry book cover, "Weeds".
ReplyDeleteI noticed that. Great choice!
DeleteWhat a cool meme, an gorgeous flowers. I wish I wasn't so allergic to them--but hey, at least I've still got my cheese. =)
ReplyDeleteThere's always a bright side. :)
DeleteI'm sorry I missed the blitz. I'm gonna have to go check out what all the hub bub was about.
ReplyDeleteNo worries. :) Check out this post on DL Hammons' blog for info about the Blitz:
Deletehttp://dlcruisingaltitude.blogspot.com/2013/03/blog-blitz-wanna-join.html
I missed the blitz too...will go check it out. I remember those dandelion bouquets from half-a-century ago! (Surprisingly, they don't grow in Florida and I miss seeing their cheerful yellow faces!)
ReplyDeleteI think I would miss them, too. :)
DeleteI think it looks more like an apple blossom of some kind than a dogwood.. but it's hard to say.
ReplyDeleteWe are just getting our first few dandelions popping up!
I'll have to check with my neighbor and see if she knows what it is. The flowers are all gone now, unfortunately.
DeleteThanks for stopping by! ☺
My husband likes dandelions too. I could do without them, but they don't bother me enough to get rid of them.
ReplyDeleteI might love them less if my kids didn't adore them so much. I love how their eyes light up when they hand me dandelion bouquets. :)
DeleteI've never understood why dandelions are considered weeds. I happen to like them!
ReplyDeleteThey always look so cheerful. :)
DeleteAs above - anybody who considered dandelions a weed has no heart!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Agreed. :)
DeleteHave a great Thursday!
How beautiful! That is such a great idea for a meme! Tennessee is a really beautiful place to live, so I am sure I could find some good photos...
ReplyDeleteYou should participate sometime. It's a lot of fun!
DeleteI love the second pic. I used to join here but work has gotten the best of me. But now, I hope to be back and hope to have comments from members too. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Looking forward to seeing your photos.
DeleteHave a nice weekend. ☺
