Where did the school year go?
My son has only three more days of kindergarten before school is over. I can't believe I'll be the mother of a first-grader soon! And my baby will be a preschooler next fall. Where did the school year go? Where did the TIME go?
It goes way too fast.
I can't help but feel the way country music singer Billy Dean does in this song:

It goes much too fast!
ReplyDeleteSurely time flies. A longer school year!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Leovi! Thanks for stopping by. :)
DeleteTime flies faster and faster. Hold it tight!
ReplyDeleteThat's excellent advice. Thanks!
DeleteDon't tell me Dana, time fly and some says that the older we get, the more we feel that time really fly to quickly. Lovely video, music, and lyrics.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your saturday
Grace
You too, friend. ☺
DeleteHave a happy and lovely saturday:D:D...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lyrics:D
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Have a wonderful weekend!
DeleteTime does fly, I guess. I can't imagine what it's like if you're a parent.
ReplyDeleteI think the best word to describe it is "bittersweet." :)
DeleteOur little ones do indeed grow up so very fast right before our eyes. I still look at children crossing the street after school and think that my own two should be somewhere among them, but they are both well into their thirties now, and I wonder how the years have slipped away so quickly. So many good memories that I am thankful for!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we have our memories and our home movies and our pictures—all wonderful things to be thankful for!
DeleteBeautiful memories, Dana. There'll be much more joy to follow. Hope it far outweighs the sorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jo. :)
Delete....And before long we will be saying "where did the summer go?"
ReplyDeleteThat's so true!
DeleteThe days of bottles, diapers, and toddler tantrums seemed endless at times. Looking back, though, the time flew. My three are teens and into young adulthood now.
ReplyDeleteIt's so bittersweet...
DeleteLovely song. Enjoy the summer with them!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I definitely will!
DeleteThey grow up so very fast.
ReplyDeleteIndeed they do. :)
DeleteOk, I teared up here. Thanks for sharing that precious song.
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome. ☺
DeleteI'd say the summer goes faster than the school year ... At least from the kids and teachers perspectives! :) Enjoy the time!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a teacher, and I think you might be right! Thanks. :)
DeleteThese kids of ours grow like weeds! I loved the song and think the sentiments are oh so true x
ReplyDeleteThey sure do!
DeleteLovely post, and I agree about time flying (though I'm not a parent, unless you count the furry kids ;)). I hope the summer slows down for you and you're able to pack in lots of great memories! (Lauren from kissedbystarlight.wordpress.com -- it kept saying I had illegal characters, lol.)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lauren. I hope you have a great summer, too!
DeleteIf I would have stayed in public school, I would have graduated a year ago. Just thinking about that is shocking enough. I can't imagine having kids in school (or at all, for that matter). haha
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy how fast it all goes, isn't it? :)
DeleteI am baffled by my kids ages all the time. My eldest will be starting his first year of GCSEs in September... I remember doing that! Start stockpiling the tissues now :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I will. :)
DeleteWe are officially on summer recess, and time for fun now :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Deletetime is flying way too fast
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be nice to be able to freeze-frame it sometimes?
DeleteIt seems like my son was in first grade last year, he is 24! It fly by at amazing speed. I hope your summertime is filled with fun and only happy memories!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tonya. My mom says that it seems like yesterday that I was starting kindergarten. :)
DeleteNot for your kids, the school year is too long and the summer is too short. Y'all get out a month later than we do where I live. We get out in late May, or first week of June. : )
ReplyDeleteI'm sure my son will feel that way when he gets older! Right now he loves school and is sad to see the school year end.
DeleteI remember getting out in May, too. I wonder why it's so late here?
Thanks for dropping by. ☺
