Six-word Saturday


Wish I could freeze-frame these days.

My children are three and five. I love these ages! They're both so curious and fun, and the things they say are often so wise (and sometimes hilarious). We have such a good time together.

While I know that each stage of a child's life has beautiful moments, sometimes I wish I could freeze time right now, during these wonderful, early childhood days.

    I remember thinking similar things too! I've forgotten most of the wise and amusing comments now, which is such a shame - I wish I had written them down.

    Oh, yes! You should take photos of the kids and create a great quote book of all the hilarious and wise things they say.

      I've been writing down most of their wise and hilarious comments. Now I just need to find the time to record them in the memory journals I bought. :)

    Those magical years pass so quickly, and before you know it the kids are all grown! Make lots of wonderful memories together that you all can treasure for years and years to come!

      Thanks. The years really are short. My mom says that I was in kindergarten one day and the next day I was married. That's how quickly time seems to go. So bittersweet...

      I'm lucky that mine have always been good sleepers. It's nearly 10:30 a.m. here right now, and they're still not awake. I'll have to go upstairs and get them soon.

    Do enjoy them! Each stage is a good one (even the tough teen ones). It would be neat if we could freeze frame time indeed!

    So true! We are always quoting what our kids said way back when. I can't wait to have grandkids...that would be my Saturday 6.

    Like others have suggested, you should write down the cute things. I keep a notebook to records the conversations between my students, the cute antics of my pets, and even special couple moments. Otherwise, they're too easily forgotten!

    Yes, these are great years. I can't wait to read what you write 10 years from now when they're 13 and 15. HA! Don't start thinking about that now -- it'll ruin what's left of the weekend. :-)

    those were the days all right. but playing with them now is fun too, its when they are gone that i'm worried about! but for now i enjoy!

    I absolutely agree with you! I adored my son at the toddler/preschool age. Of course, at 41 I still adore him, though some of the things he now does are not the least bit cute, ha!

    My granddaughters are 5 and 2 and helped me celebrate an early birthday with an ice cream cake and disco dancing after dinner. I understand completely.
