Six-word Saturday

Click to join the fun!
Like a chicken with no head...

Yes, that pretty much describes me right now. ☺

A week from tomorrow, my family and I will be leaving for our annual, two-week vacation to my home state of Michigan, and I have so much left to do to get ready! No matter how well I plan, it seems that the days leading up to the trip always find me running around like a crazy woman as I attempt to get everything done, and the craziness doesn't end until we pull out of the driveway. Then I relax and feel grateful that I'm in the passenger seat: I can take a nap!

Wishing you all a calm and relaxing Saturday. ☺

    1. You're so right about that! (It also seems like moms do most of the prep work—or at least it feels that way...)

Thanks, Fiona. We're going to a get-together later today, so I hope to find my relaxation there. Have a nice Saturday!

  4. We have found a way to beat all that planning nonsense. We simply change some furniture around, and move into our "summer cottage" mode. The swimming pool becomes our lake, etc.

Hope you have a wonderful vacation!

  5. I am sure all of the planning will be worth it. We too are putting the finishing touches on our vacation in 2 weeks time. We have to coordinate with 2 other couples which adds to the fun.

  9. The next thing for the headless chicken is the boiling pot of water to loosen the feathers. Be careful, you don't want that!

Next the feathers are all plucked followed by singeing the pinfeathers. Presto, the chicken is ready to be cut and cooked.

    1. Unless you want to pickle them, the feet are cut off and discarded before cutting the chicken.

  20. I have never gone on a two week vacation (as an adult w/my children). It's gotta be a lot of work to remember everything I bet. Hopefully you're able to have fun and relax when you get there.

My husband is fine with letting me drive, but on long trips he usually does most of it. And it's so nice. Read a book. Be on the computer, at least until the kids start whining. :)

    Have fun!
